Formula 1: How I become a big Fan of the sport

The year was 2020, like almost everyone during the lockdown I was also getting bored staying at home and not able to do anything fun or exciting. As I am not a big fan of reading books or studying, The only way to spend my time was youtube and video games. Just like any other day I was surfing through youtube and stumbled upon a video uploaded by NASA about Lewis Hamilton visiting their training facility and I had no clue about who he was. So, I ignored the video and continued with the rest of my day. But the video kept popping up on my home page again and again. After ignoring it many times finally it stroked my curiosity. I was wondering “who is this dude and why would NASA let him in their training facility”. So I watched the video and did what most of us probably do when we do not understand something which is to google it. So, I did a google search about who Lewis Hamilton is, It showed me that Lewis was a Formula 1 Driver and a 6 times Formula 1 World Champion and was on course to becoming a 7 times World Champion equalling the record for the most world championship won by any driver in the sport. Previously only achieved by Micheal Schumacher.

Now I was seriously curious about the guy and the sport. So, I went to youtube again and searched about Formula 1. As the ongoing Season was suspended due to covid-19, I watched race highlights, replays, and video compilations of the previous seasons. I was fascinated by the level of technicality and how intensive the sport was, especially the cars.

The cars were built with very aggressive aerodynamic engineering and made to go very very fast. They can achieve up to 350 KPH, 0-100 in 2.6 Seconds, and 0-300 in under 10 Seconds. Not only can it accelerate that fast it also has astonishing braking ability coming to a full stop from 300 KPH in less than 4 seconds with mind-boggling cornering speeds. The F1 engines produce around 1000 BHP while still being very efficient. All of this was very interesting to me yet I was not completely blown away. Now as I mentioned I play a lot of video games and I have always been a fan of racing games. Since I was curious about Formula 1, I tried the F1 Video game series, and it stroke my fascination for the sport even more. Now the year is 2021, lockdowns have ended the sky-high prices for gaming gear have come down a bit. So. I built myself a modern gaming PC and the first game I purchased was F1 2020. I played the game for hours and it kept scratching my curiosity very hard. At this, I just could not help myself and bought myself a Racing Simulation Driving Wheel.

As soon as I experienced the thrill of driving an F1 car my curiosity crossed all limits and I just couldn’t resist the sport anymore. Even though I was playing a game sitting at home with no G-forces, shaking, bumps, vibration, or anything close to what the F1 drivers experience it was still very intense, adrenaline rushing and technically awesomeness. I thought that if I sitting at home on a 300$ wheel is feeling like this how much more intense, technical, and crazy it would have been for real F1 drivers. That was the last straw and I had completely lost it over Formula 1. From watching a live race and cheering for the teams and drivers to taking a crack at F1 Sim racing by myself Formula 1 has been a crazy part of my everyday life. That is how I became a big fan of Formula 1 Motorsport.

    It seems like your fascination over Formula 1 is beyond explanation. Maybe that's why you are one of the best F1 players in Bangladesh. Keep speeding up till the finish line; the champion trophy is just waiting for you.
